No doubt, this could have ended much, much worse if the driver of the oncoming passenger car hadn't reacted the way he did, ultimately saving his own life.

Our next motorist was not as lucky as he did not have the time or the opportunity to react after a Lada hatchback on another lane began to aquaplane across the road before he crashed right into it.

BMW Video Scoop Bonanza: 2014 M4 Coupe, 2014 X5 SUV and 2013 3-Series GT

It's a busy time for the engineers and designers at BMW as the Bavarian premium carmaker has plenty of new cars under development, including the 2014 M3 Coupe or M4, the next X5 SUV and a new addition to the range, the 3-Series Gran Turismo, all of which were filmed in and around the Nürburgring in Germany.

We'll start with the next iteration of the M3 Coupe that may be christened M4, the first spy pictures of which we showed you earlier this week.

Man Lands Rental BMW X5 Atop Jaguar XJ and Mercedes E-Class

A 74-year-old man launched his rental 2012 BMW X5 SUV through some cable wires and into the air before literally landing onto a 2005 ~~JagWire~~ Jaguar XJ and a 2003 Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan in a looped parking garage in Chicago.

The man said that he hit the gas pedal instead of the brake by mistake. Fortunately, no one was hurt, but all three cars sustained at least some kind of damages.

2007-2009MY Mercedes E-Class Wagon and 2012MY BMW X5 and X6 Recalled Over Separate Issues

Rivaling premium carmakers Mercedes-Benz and BMW have both issued recalls on select models over unrelated problems.

Starting with Mercedes-Benz, the Stuttgart-based brand is recalling a total of 3,613 E350 4matic station wagons from the 2006-2009MY manufactured from July 1, 2006, through April 30, 2009, because a connecting rod for the load leveling rear suspension system may fail.

Proving that its business not only caters to the needs of Land Rover and Range Rover owners but also of other makes, Afzal Kahn rolled out a new customizing package for the BMW X5 xDrive30d crossover.

On the outside, the UK tuner's upgrades are limited to the chunky 22-inch RSL alloy wheels in a Silver Palladium finish that hide new brake calipers in Liquid Red, the tinted windows and new logos on the tailgate.
