Here's an audio quiz for you: do you think that the Jaguar F-Type prototype filmed here testing on the Nordschleife is sporting one of the two versions of the brand's 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engines or the 5.0-liter supercharged V8?

Before we let you hear the sounds in the spy video below, we'll remind you that the 3.0-liter six-cylinder unit will be offered in two guises, with 335hp (340PS) and 375hp (380PS), while Jaguar has still not told us how much power will be generated by the V8 unit found in the flagship 'R' version.

New Jaguar F-Type Roadster to Make its Production Premiere in Paris [w/Video]

The countdown for the presentation of the new and highly anticipated Jaguar F-Type has begun as the British carmaker today revealed that the roadster will make its global debut in production form at the Paris Motor Show on September 27.

Jaguar's F-Type series, which will eventually expand to include a coupe model, was previewed by last year's well-received Frankfurt Motor Show C-X16 Coupe Concept study .

Jaguar Releases New Films on Upcoming F-Type Roadster

The creative folks at Jaguar are gearing up their marketing hype on the British firm's new F-Type roadster with the release of two new videos.

In the first clip named 'Future', Jaguar's Global Brand Director Adrian Hallmark, describes his vision for the car while in the second video dubbed 'Fearless', Jaguar's Design Director, Ian Callum, shares his thoughts about the roadster's design and performance credentials.

Jaguar F-Type Prototype to Make a Run for it at Goowood FoS

Visitors to the UK's Goodwood Festival of Speed (FoS) from June 28 to July 1 will have the chance to see a development prototype of Jaguar’s upcoming sports car, the F-Type for the very first time.

The roadster model will not only be making its public debut at the event but will also be driven up the famous Goodwood hill climb by Jaguar’s Head of Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross.

Spied: Jaguar Tests Flagship F-Type R with 5.0-liter Supercharged V8

Not too long after Jaguar confirmed the development of a range-topping version of its upcoming F-Type roadster, and our scoop photographers nabbed a prototype of the V8-powered model that will wear the British brand's 'R' logo.

So how do we know for sure that this is the F-Type R and not the base F-Type? Well, Jaguar actually made it pretty easy for us to be able to distinguish the two models.

You see, the entry-level version that will be motivated by Jaguar's new 3.0-liter supercharged V6 delivering 375hp (380PS) and 460Nm (339 lb-ft) of peak torque has two centrally mounted tail pipes, whereas the V8 model pictured here sports a pair of exhausts on either side of the rear diffuser. Simple as that.

Jaguar Officially Confirms 5.0-liter Supercharged V8 for the F-Type Roadster

We first heard the rumors last week, but today, Jaguar confirmed plans to offer a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 alongside its new 3.0-liter supercharged V6 in the upcoming F-Type sports car.

We still do not know the performance specifications of the F-Type's force-fed V8, but it will likely be one or perhaps even both versions of the 5.0-liter unit offered by Jaguar.
